Green means go in govt initiative

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment has joined the green movement by compiling a list of environmentally friendly products for state agencies to purchase. The ministry's green procurement scheme aims to slow global warming and promote environmental awareness in Thai society. The government agencies would encourage the business sector, particularly manufacturers and service providers, to invest more in clean technology and conservation efforts. The Pollution Control Department’s(PCD) has published a handbook which lists products and services that have passed the department's green criteria.Which is divided into 17 categories such as printing paper, ink cartridges, to toilet paper. The manufactures have been very active in improving their products and produce processes to meet the criteria. The products and services accepted under its procurement scheme include those that have received the green label either from the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) or under the ISO 14020 international standard. However, the state agency green procurement scheme was a crucial first step towards fostering environmental awareness among Thai consumers, which would then increase demand for eco-friendly products. The PCD has also teamed up with 7-Eleven convenience stores to establish a "green corner" at 5,500 stores nationwide.

In my opinion, this project is a good ways to help about environment in Thailand. It can protect and slow down of global warming in the world. I agree with this project which is organized in Thailand. Because of nowadays, many products and services are caused a lot of pollution. Furthermore, some products use a chemical to mixer that endanger to consumers especially, in the children. This project makes the manufacture active and improves to produce the safe products and it can resolve the pollution in Thailand
